The mat is soft and plush and feels like a mini memory foam mattress. My cat loves to sit on this mat and look at the world go by out the back sliding glass door. I think this would be great for use on a cold or hard floor as it is very soft and provides a bit of padding.
I tried using it as a pet feeding mat but my cat was confused (likely because he had been laying on it for a week....dude, why is my food and water on my bed?!?) So the mat is back in place by the window. NOTE: the surface is plush and not a "wipe clean" surface so messy spills would require washing the mat.
I've washed it per the label's instructions (machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle + line dry) and it washed beautifully. The print looks brand new!
